Biocompatible Adhesives for Tube Set Assembly
Biocompatible adhesives from Panacol-USA provide the bond strength, flexibility, and speed of cure that is demanded in breathing circuit component and IV tube set assembly. Primarily comprised of Panacol-USA’s Vitralit® brand LED and uv cure adhesives, these products fully cure in fractions of a second under low intensity UV or Visible Light. Vitralit® adhesives are ideal for use with Honle’s LED light curing equipment. LED lamps maintain cooler component surface temperatures, minimizing plasticizer migration and thin-walled substrate deformation.
Panacol’s biocompatible adhesives are moisture resistant, extremely flexible, and when cured, possess dry, tack-free surfaces. This selection of adhesives is particularly effective with highly plasticized substrates such as PVC, polyethylene, and other flexible polymer blends. High bond strength, extreme flexibility, and low shrinkage contribute to consistent performance after sterilization and aging. Specifically designed for use in medical product assemblies, the adhesives are formulated to meet USP Class VI and ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards, and are compatible with gamma, EtO, and peroxide plasma sterilization processes.
The individual adhesives are capable of bonding multiple substrates including PVC, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylic, and styrene. They are ideally suited for IV tubing and connectors, anesthesia masks, breathing bags, and laryngeal mask airways (LMA).
