Adhesives for Hearing Aid Assembly
Panacol-USA offers light curable medical device adhesive products that address the challenges of hearing aid assembly and their operating environments. The inner ear canal surface is acidic, coated with a combination of oil, perspiration, and ear wax. Hearing aid devices must function in this wonderland, and require assembly adhesives that are impervious to these substances to ensure reliable operation. Hearing aid assembly also has its challenges. Shells and faceplates are molded in assorted colors using pigmented resins. Pigmentation reduces the transmission of light energy, which has a negative impact on curing typical light curable adhesives. Longer curing cycles and higher power equipment is typically required to overcome lower light transmission.
Panacol-USA offers light curable medical device adhesive products that address the challenges of hearing aid assembly and their operating environments. Panacol-USA’s selection of adhesives includes our LED light curable adhesives. LED curable adhesives will fully cure under low intensity UV or visible light in seconds. They are ideal for use with LED light curing equipment. The ability to cure with low intensity light makes these adhesives particularly well suited for applications involving pigmented substrates. Typical applications include faceplate/shell bonding, as well as attaching receiver tubes to the shell.
LEDcure adhesives are extremely clear in appearance. They offer cured properties from hard/rigid to soft/flexible. Cured surfaces are smooth and tack-free, including products with the greatest elongation and flexibility.
